How to Choose Refractory Materials for Waste Incinerators

Recently, many customers have inquired about refractory materials for waste incinerators. In response to the selection problems faced by customers, Xinhongji Refractory has compiled a list of refractory materials for waste incinerators for reference only. Different types of incinerators vary based on type, temperature, and location. Please read carefully.

Commonly used incinerators include intermittent incinerators, grate incinerators, calcium oxide incineration systems, fluidized bed incinerators, rotary incinerators, etc. Refractory materials for waste incinerators have the following characteristics:

Good volume stability; good high-temperature strength and wear resistance; good acid resistance; good seismic stability; good corrosion resistance (CO, Cl2, SO2, HCl, alkali metal vapor, etc.); good processability (amorphous); good heat resistance and insulation.

Use different incinerators, different components, and different temperatures. The following selection suggestions are for reference only:

The operating temperature of the top, side walls, and burner of the combustion chamber is 1000-1400℃. High alumina bricks, clay bricks with a fire-resistance rating of 1750~1790℃ and plastic bricks with a fire-resistance rating of 1750~1790℃ can be selected;

The operating temperature of the upper, middle, and lower parts of the grate side is 1000~1200℃. Silicon carbide bricks, clay bricks, and wear-resistant castables with a fire resistance of 1710-1750℃ can be used;

The operating temperature of the top and side walls of the secondary combustion chamber is 800-1000°C. Clay bricks or clay castables with a fire resistance lower than 1750°C can be used;

The operating temperature of the top wall, side walls of the heat exchange chamber, the top wall, side walls, and bottom wall of the spray chamber is lower than 600°C. Clay bricks or clay castables with fire resistance lower than 1710℃ can be used;

Adjust the flue and flue operating temperature to 600°C, and choose clay bricks or clay castables with a fire resistance lower than 1670°C.

The selection of refractory materials for the above incinerators should be based on specific circumstances. For different types of incinerators, various factors should be considered comprehensively and determined based on the worst conditions during the operation of the equipment.
