Introduction of Silicon Carbide Castables

Silicon carbide castables are mainly 75~98% of silicon + carbide as the main raw material, adding high-efficiency water reducer and ultrafine powder, with pure calcium aluminate cement as the binder, thus made into amorphous refractory material. which is the first choice for non-ferrous metal melting furnaces, blast furnace ironmaking grooves, cupolas, and other high-temperature record materials. The performance indicators of silicon carbide castables are similar to silicon carbide bricks and can be used for the on-site casting of kilns. During construction, it can also be made into refractory prefabricated parts and prefabricated blocks, which can be used directly after drying and moisture.

Silicon carbide castables can greatly reduce the number of skidding with the advantages of fast heat conduction, compact volume, good oxidation resistance, good wear resistance, strong resistance to erosion, erosion, permeability, and so on. The service temperature of silicon carbide castables is generally 1500-1700℃.

Features of Silicon Carbide Castables

The biggest advantage of silicon carbide refractory castables is that it has high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion, and does not react with slag. It has been used as a slag reaction and high-temperature spalling kiln parts very early.

Application of Silicon Carbide Castables

Characteristics of Silicon Carbide Castables

  • The more SIC content, the better the anti-skinning function of the refractory material, and the better the alkali resistance.

  • Silicon carbide castables have high thermal conductivity and a small thermal expansion coefficient. SIC refractory castables are difficult to penetrate with molten steel and slag. High-temperature oxidation is a protective oxidation, and oxygen resistance is significantly better than carbon materials.

  • Based on the SIC body, silicon carbide is wear-resistant and silicon carbide has high hardness.
