Trough/launder systems carry molten aluminum from one location to another location. The system has two functions: conveying and insulation. The system usually includes surface refractories, spare insulation materials, steel structures, gates, and other high-temperature equipment such as thermocouples and gaskets. They are most often used to transport molten aluminum from a melting furnace to a holding furnace, from a holding furnace to a casting station or to carry molten aluminum to inline degassing and filtration systems. Effective trough systems help maintain metal temperature and prevent oxide buildup.

The lining of the trough & launder system is made of high-quality medium-density fused silica refractory and pre-sintered at 800°C before assembly. It has high aluminum resistance, low thermal conductivity, low shrinkage, and high strength. We also have on-site combustion capabilities up to 2450°F.
