Refractory castable materials are widely used in high-temperature fields. Their convenient construction performance and usability, compared with refractory bricks of the same material, greatly shorten the construction period, improve the construction site environment, increase maintenance efficiency, and reduce costs. Refractory castable materials made of different materials have different uses and construction methods.

Construction Methods of Refractory Castables

The construction method of refractory castables is as follows:

1. Pour water directly into the overall lining, such as high-aluminum castables, low-cement castables, etc. The mold needs support.

2. The pouring construction part cannot use self-flowing molding according to the complexity of the pouring part. Commonly used low-cement self-flowing castables do not need to support molds;

3. Using the smearing method for construction, no kiln mold is required and the lining is thin, saving time and effort. Such as refractory coatings;

4. Adopt mashing construction, fill the material into the furnace shell, and mash it vigorously with the help of mashing tools to obtain a strong density, which can be directly put into production to form a ceramic structure at high temperature;

5. For construction using the gunning method, spraying equipment is required to spray the mixed material directly to the construction site.

6. Press the material directly to the site to be constructed, also known as refractory pressure injection material, such as foam mud for the blast furnace tap hole;

7. Pour prefabricated parts directly to the manufacturer and carry out masonry construction at the construction site, which is called cast prefabricated parts or refractory prefabricated parts, etc.

No matter what kind of castable is used to cast the lining, it must be baked before the first use, so that the physical water and crystal water can be gradually eliminated, and a certain degree of sintering can be achieved, so that its volume and performance can be stable during use. state. The baking system has a great impact on the service life. The basic principle of the baking system should be that the heating speed corresponds to possible phase changes and deformations such as dehydration. In some of the above-mentioned temperature stages that change rapidly, the temperature should be heated slowly or even maintained for a long time. If it is not baked properly or not baked, it is easy to develop serious cracks and even loose explosions, especially in thicker parts.
