Speaking of refractory materials, those unfamiliar with the refractory industry, are basically unable to understand and classify them correctly, and even more unable to make objective judgments, thereby making correct procurement and correct use. We Xinhongji Refractory will introduce the types of refractory materials based on common refractory materials.

Refractory materials are generally divided into two types in terms of their morphologies, monolithic refractory materials, and shaped refractory materials. Monolithic refractory materials, also known as castables commonly, are a mixture of powdered particles composed of multiple aggregates or aggregates and one or more adhesives. When it is put into use, it must be mixed evenly with one or more liquids, with strong fluidity. Shaped refractory materials generally refer to fire-resistant bricks, which have standard and regular shapes. They can also be prefabricated in advance according to customer requirements, or temporarily be processed at the site following the current needs.

Refractory Classifications and Their Characteristics

According to the level of refractoriness:

Ordinary refractory: 1580℃~1770℃

Advanced refractory: 1770℃~2000℃

Top grade refractory: >2000℃

Classification by material chemical properties:

Acid refractory, neutral refractory, alkaline refractory

Classification by chemical mineral composition:

This classification method can directly characterize the basic composition and characteristics of various refractory materials and is a common classification method in production, use, and scientific research, with strong practical application significance.
