Rotary kilns are widely used in building materials, metallurgy, chemical industry, and environmental protection industries, mainly for mechanical, physical, or chemical treatment of solid materials. Among them, the rotary kiln is widely used in the cement industry, and usually processes cement, lime, and other materials commonly used in construction, as well as materials that are difficult to calcinate. The rotary kiln mainly includes the kiln head and the kiln tail. The use occasions of the kiln head and the kiln tail are different, and we are also different when choosing refractory castables. So today Xinhongji Refractory will briefly analyze the castables for the rotary kiln head.

The kiln head of the rotary kiln is mainly used for discharging materials. The high temperature generated by the calcination of the materials inside the equipment can be cooled by the kiln head cooler, and then transported to the clinker bin for storage or transportation. There are many types of rotary kilns, and the temperature is different when calcining different materials. Among them, the temperature of our common cement rotary kiln can reach about 1600°C during calcination; the temperature of the ceramsite sand rotary kiln can reach 1050°C during operation; the temperature of the lime rotary kiln can reach 1350°C during calcination; To ensure the stability, efficiency, and life of the rotary kiln, we need to choose the appropriate refractory material.

When choosing castables for rotary kiln heads, we often choose corundum mullite castables as the main material. Its maximum refractory temperature can reach 1780°C, and it has high refractory stability, good wear resistance, and acid and alkali chemical corrosion resistance. It is an ideal material for key parts of high-temperature kilns due to its characteristics of good quality and stable volume change at high temperatures.

The selection of refractory castables for rotary kilns should be selected according to the functions of each part and the maximum temperature that can be achieved during combustion. Usually, refractory materials with high refractoriness, strong thermal shock resistance, and good wear resistance should be selected, so as to ensure the kiln Furnace life and the stability and efficiency of kiln production.
